Abstract

The objective of the work is to establish the level of work stress that teachers of basic education may be experiencing from the teleworking carried out by the arrival of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Ecuador and the world. A research study was carried out at the Teniente Hugo Ortiz School in the city of Portoviejo using a qualitative deductive method, information collection techniques such as the interview were applied to know the condition of teleworking and a questionnaire based on Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), in order to measure the level of work stress of teachers. Among the main results it can be mentioned that teachers in a 58% feel stressed in a medium high level at the time of providing their classes and 42% maintain an average level of stress when performing the various activities through the digital platform. Similarly, it was learned that not everyone is dissatisfied with this new educational modality, since teleworking provides them with advantages such as reduced costs of mobilization and permanence with their families. From what it was possible to conclude, that teachers are at an average level of stress due to the use of the digital platform and especially because of the tension experienced by the pandemic; adding to this the lack of acceptance of the topics provided in classes due to the limited connectivity, makes the information provided repetitive for some students causing dissatisfaction with the current educational level.

Keywords: Stress, telecommuting, technology, efficiency, acceptance.
