Abstract

The alarming prevalence of incorrect brushing in children justifies the consideration of the creation of wide-ranging programs; Pedagogical toothbrushing interventions meet this need and have been shown to be effective in reducing the prevalence of poor toothbrushing. 4 electronic databases Google Scholar, PubMed, Scielo, and Medline were searched for publications from 2015 to 2020, including experimental articles. To evaluate the different interventions of correct tooth brushing in children.  60% of the evaluated interventions highlight the need to intervene with educational guidance due to the little knowledge of correct brushing that children have. 10% emphasize the use of brushing techniques through which greater efficiency is obtained in the sweep of the bacterial plaque, the Bass technique being the most effective while only 30% of the interventions compared the use of some models of brushes where it is shown that the electronic toothbrush has the greatest advantage in use for children. Through this review, it was evidenced that the interventions that presented the greatest efficacy were those of a pedagogical type, through the use of the Bass technique, the highest percentage of efficacy for plaque removal was presented compared to the other techniques.
