Introduction: Suicide is defined as the deliberate and conscious act of a person intentionally ending their own life, resulting in their death. This process can be carried out by a variety of methods or means. The person who commits suicide often has two main purposes in mind. The first and most frequent aim of these intentions is to seek attention and to generate concern in their environment, which can include friends and family. On the other hand, the second intention that may be behind this painful act is the search to end their life, that is, to bring about death. In the field of psychiatric pathology, it is quite common for these types of incidents to occur. Among the different disorders that occur in this area, the one that manifests itself most frequently is mood disorder, which is followed, in order of prevalence, by addictions, psychotic disorders and eating disorders. Objective: to determine the psychiatric clinical reasons for a patient who attempted suicide by the measured administration of benzodiazepines. In addition, to provide clinical management of the same. Clinical case: a 17-year-old male patient is presented, who is found by his mother in his residential home, drowsy with an empty Lorazepam box at his side, approximately family estimates that he would have ingested a dose of 30 tablets, which is why she goes immediately. Diagnosis: psychiatric management shows a self-harm attempt with benzodiazepines and mood and eating disorders. Conclusion: The act of attempting to take one's own life represents one of the most serious and worrying challenges in the field of global health. One area where significant impact can be made is in the implementation of preventive measures against suicide. This can be achieved through the creation and use of protocols that have been designed by teams made up of professionals from various disciplines.
