Abstract
Congenital aplasia cutis is defined as a medical condition that includes a variety of diverse and inconsistent clinical manifestations. In this pathology, a localized lack of skin is observed in different areas of the body at birth. This lack of skin can be caused by external factors, i.e., exogenous, or, in less common situations, it can have a genetic origin that influences its development. In certain cases, this condition has been observed to be related to severe intrauterine growth restriction, and in some cases it may also occur alongside malformations in different areas of the body. We present the clinical case of a 1-month-old female patient who was diagnosed and received medical care from a multidisciplinary team. This little patient underwent medical treatment in our specialized service and subsequently benefited from the application of a synthetic skin semi-graft made of polyurethane, which showed favorable and positive progress in her health.
