Abstract

Cervical cancer is a significant public health issue that requires enhancing knowledge regarding the human papillomavirus (HPV), vaccination, screening, and early detection. The objective was to analyze knowledge and preventive practices among women of reproductive age, as well as the factors associated with their adoption. A qualitative, descriptive-analytical systematic review was conducted, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and the PICO strategy. Searches were performed in PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and SciELO, covering 26 studies published between 2020 and 2026. The results revealed heterogeneous levels of knowledge and a gap between knowledge and preventive practice. Barriers identified included fear, embarrassment, pain, misinformation, financial constraints, distance, and restricted access to health services. It is concluded that health education, vaccination, screening, and professional support are essential for fostering sustainable preventive practices within the studied population.
