Author Guidelines

GENERAL PUBLICATION RULES

The Editorial Committee of the GESTAR Arbitrated Scientific Journal in Health Research has established the following rules for articles that will be submitted to arbitration for publication.

The GESTAR Arbitrated Scientific Journal in Health Research agrees to review scientific articles related to the focus and scope of the journal.

INVESTIGATION SECTION

  • The papers submitted must be original and unpublished scientific research articles, results or advances of a research process or of a deep theoretical reflection that constitutes a significant contribution to the development of knowledge in the area of health.
  • Additionally, the last section of the magazine is intended for the publication of contributions and essays on topics related to the academic or social area.
  • At the beginning of each year, the index corresponding to the articles and trials published in the last year will be published.

EXTENSION, FORMAT AND STRUCTURE

  • The article will have a minimum length of ten (10) and a maximum of twenty (20) written pages, including notes, charts and references.
  • When the support of graphs, tables, charts, photos or maps is required, without exceeding two, the author must send it by internet to the email indicated above, (without importing them from Word; the charts, tables and charts in the original format and the photos or maps, in PNG or JPG format, keeping the structure of the document) and indicating the place and the page where they will be placed, or if they will be included as an annex or appendix to the article. In any case, they must be of sufficient quality and legible to allow optimal reproduction.

ASPECTS THAT THE ARTICLE MUST CONTAIN

  • Abstract: The works will have a summary in Spanish and English (abstract), of an informative type, where the problem studied, the objective, the methods used and the main results and conclusions, with a length of no more than (200) words and in a single paragraph to a single space. Under both summaries and in the respective language, no less than three descriptors (03) or keywords and a maximum of (5) keywords of the article / essay must be indicated. * The Abstract must be a coherent translation, not the product of an internet translator.
  • Introduction: It must contain the clear and simple approach to the problem, the previous references to approach it, the possible questions and assumptions that guided the work, objective and approach that the author used.
  • Body (theory and concepts, methodology, analysis of results and discussion): This section describes how the work was done. The activities, materials, and procedures that were used or performed are incorporated into the narrative as the procedure followed is explained. In general, the sequence to present the details could be: definition of the methodology, object and subject of study, procedure and way to collect and analyze the results.
  • Conclusions: Here the author extracts and formulates with precision the conclusions reached in the discussion, but without stating the reasons that allowed him to reach them. If the work allows it, recommendations can be made. By reading this section, anyone can quickly learn about the findings of the investigation. This section can be written separately or incorporated into the discussion. Also, at the author's discretion, it may be omitted. * There will be no premature conclusions of work still in progress.
  • References: References must comply with the APA (American Psychological Association) rules, following the guidelines indicated below in general: First last name, First name initial. (year). Title of the article in bold. City and Country where it was published: Name of the Publisher, first and last pages, pages. xx-xx. (The links or hyperlinks must function correctly and contain the aforementioned information).

¨¨* Every article must have an Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusions and References.

ACCEPTANCE OF ORIGINALS

  • All the proposed texts will be submitted to a preliminary review by the Editorial Commission, which will determine if they comply with the guidelines indicated here. Otherwise, they will be returned to the authors with the appropriate signs so they can make the necessary adjustments and send their collaboration again.
  • The accepted contributions will be subject to style and content correction, and their publication will be subject to the availability of space in each issue. Sending any collaboration to the journal implies not only the acceptance of what is established in this document, but also the authorization of the Academic Editorial Committee of the Arbitrated Scientific Journal on Health Research GESTAR to include it in its electronic page.
  • The proposed texts that comply with the above guidelines will be sent, for their opinion or arbitration, to two external judges or arbitrators, with the double-blind system: the judge will not have knowledge of the author's identity and vice versa.
  • The accepted works with observations will be returned to their authors, who must incorporate the indicated modifications, which will be verified by the Editorial Committee.
  • Each author or authors will receive a copy in PDF format of the number of the journal in which their article or essay is published, together with the Proof of Publication.

DICTAMINATION CRITERIA

  • The judges will be international researchers and academics, with recognized Master's or Doctorate studies, whose lines of work coincide with the theme addressed in each text. The anonymity of evaluators and authors is maintained at all times.
  • Reviewers are guaranteed to have no relationship with the author or the institution to which it belongs.

The evaluation criteria suggested to the judges will be the following:

  • Attention to its content. Consider the originality, rigor, interest and topicality of the approaches, with a maximum of (5) years of the documents used, as well as their relevance to the field of education.
  • Attention to the general structure of the work. The exposition must be done with a coherent logic that achieves its analytical cohesion.
  • Attention to the writing. Expository quality, careful writing and spelling.

The final opinion may be:

1. Publishable with in-depth corrections. In this case, the author will be indicated what profound modifications must be made to the work in order to publish it in the journal. The author or authors will have a period of 7 days, counted from the date of return, to present the corrected version of their text, which will be sent again to the judges, to determine the relevance of the new version.

2. Publishable with revision. In this case, the author or authors will be informed if the work needs minor modifications, which will be indicated exactly. The author will have a period of 7 days, counted from the date of return, to present the corrected version of his text, which will be sent again to the judges, to determine the relevance of the new version.

3. Publishable without objection. The text will automatically be scheduled for publication in the magazine.

4. It is not publishable. Here the examiner will clearly state the reasons why he considers that the text cannot be published.

Articles or essays that are considered NOT PUBLISHABLE, by the Academic Editorial Committee or, as the case may be, the highest authority of the requesting area of the Arbitrated Scientific Journal in Health Research GESTAR, will not make adjustments or agreements of any kind.

* The resolution of the judges is final.

ESTIMATED TIME OF PUBLICATION

* The time that elapses between receipt of the article and the first response of the arbitrators is from one (1) month to two (2) months; and the time between receipt and the estimated time for publication is from three (3) months to six (6) months. Once the article is finally accepted, the authors are sent a letter of acceptance of their article with the date it will be published.

The issues of the GESTAR Arbitrated Scientific Journal on Health Research are published periodically (semi-annually) on the 10th (working) day of January and July.
